Our team, consisting mainly of certified public accountants and former bank employees who excel in the field of shipping finance, offers a comprehensive range of services such as; establishing offshore ship owning companies, booking transactions, managing cash, corresponding with auditors and financial institutions on behalf of Mitsui & Co. and its joint venture partners, both domestic and international. Based on expertise cultivated through the team’s collective experience in the shipping market, our team provides valuable insights, cash flow analysis and contract negotiation support on newbuilding investments and diversified financing sources/methods. This is typically done by establishing connections, via the global network of Orient Marine and Mitsui & Co. between overseas shipowners’ funding needs and domestic financial institutions’ financing requirements.

POINT 01

Wealth of experience as corporate service provider

Our function is not limited to providing corporate administration services to ship owning companies. We also provide support for business acquisitions and refinancing transactions to address diverse client needs. Currently, we manage 7 LNG carrier-related projects (17 ships) and 11 commercial vessel projects (34 ships).

POINT 02

Full support in obtaining Japan-sourced funding for both domestic and non-domestic shipowners

By taking advantage of the global network of Orient Marine and Mitsui & Co. we offer services to link non-Japanese shipowners who intend to diversify fund procurement channels, to Japanese financial institutions. In order to meet the expectations of shipowners inside/outside of Japan, we support customers launching projects by pursuing employment of outside capital or introducing Japanese financial institutions which fit our client needs.

POINT 03

Support of diversification of funding channels

In recent years, there has been growing demand for larger vessels and high value-added environment-friendly vessels which are difficult to cover with traditional bank financing. We propose and execute tailored financing solutions (debt/equity) by seeking to diversify funding through formation of funds, structuring Japanese Operating Leases with Call Options (JOLCO), executing sales and lease-back (SLB) transactions and exploring the use of forward freight agreements (FFA’s).
