Orient Marine was established in 1988 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. to provide highly specialized services for ship-related business. Today, we have grown into a company that offers a wide range of services, including chartering and broking, operational services, sale and purchase of secondhand ships, ship equipment sales, shipbuilding supervision, technical consulting, finance, auditing, and IT system support.

1988
Orient Marine established as a ship management and chartering company spun off from the Ship and Marine Project Division of Mitsui & Co.
2001
Amsterdam office established
to launch the chartering business for European shipping companies.
2005
Singapore branch established as an arm of the Ship Management Department, beginning with the management of eight bulk carriers and tankers.
2006
Hamburg office established to reinforce the chartering business for European shipping companies.
2009
Relocate to the Marunouchi Trust Tower North, Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
2010
Toyo Ship Machinery Co. integrated as Orient Marine’s Ship Machinery Sales Department.
2018
Geneva branch established to strengthen relationships with local clients.
2020
Singapore branch was re-established to strengthen the relationship with customers in Singapore.
2021
Copenhagen branch established to enhance relationships with local clients.
Relocate to the Tokiwabashi Tower, Marunouchi, Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
2022
Imabari Office established to strengthen relationships with local clients.
